Sodium Chloride Injection, USP 0.9%, also known as Saline solution, is a sterile, non-pyrogenic, aqueous preparation of sodium chloride. It is indicated for injection to replace fluid and electrolyte balance in clients. This balanced preparation has a pH of around 6.5-7.5, and its osmolarity is approximately 290 milliosmoles per liter (mOsm/L).
Sodium Chloride Injection, USP 0.9%, can be administered IV into a vein, or into the subcutaneous tissue. It is commonly used in hospitals for managing dehydration, electrolyte imbalances, and other medical conditions.
Mannitol Injection, USP 20%
Mannitol Injection, USP 20%, is a sterile, non-pyrogenic solution of mannitol. It is administered subcutaneously to increase urine output . The solution is hyperosmotic and exerts its effects by drawing fluids from the intracellular space into the vascular space. This increases plasma osmolality, more info which in turn lowers edema formation.
- Commonly used for treating conditions such as: glaucoma, cerebral edema, and oliguria.
